Experience History At Dragør Harbour
Step into Dragør's living cultural heritage and experience history where it actually happened. The museum offers fascinating stories about seafaring, everyday life and a town with strong traditions.
Experience the past in one of the city's oldest houses
In one of Dragør's oldest houses – built in 1753 – is Dragør Museum, which with its newly renovated museum building and modern exhibitions is ready to provide an exciting history experience for visitors of all ages.
For example, who can catch the most herring on our educational screen about Dragør in the Middle Ages or navigate their merchant ship safely around the great oceans?

Art and cultural heritage
At Dragør Museum, visitors can admire, among other things, the prominent local painters' depictions of the old maritime town and see an exhibition about the master builder Johan Blichmann, who in the 18th century shaped Dragør into the beautiful town we know it as today.
Old skipper's cabins
At the same time, you can also explore the old skippers' rooms – restored furnishings from some of the city's oldest houses – and see what life in the city was like in the old days.
The maritime town of Dragør
On the first floor of the museum, the themed exhibitions "The Maritime City of Dragør", "Home Life" and "Dragør at War" are ready to expand on the history of the centuries-old coastal town, and through fantastic old museum objects show a wide range of interesting points of interest therein.
local identity on Amager
It is also on the 1st floor that museum visitors can see C.W. Eckersberg's beautiful paintings of Dragør and not least Peter Carlsen's modern genre painting and portrayal of the local identity on Amager – "Amager 2019". There is truly something for every taste.
Educational and fun experience
Dragør Museum may not look like much from the outside, but once you are inside the doors, an educational and fun museum experience awaits you, which can be very appropriately rounded off with a walk in the beautiful old town and the harbor, where the whole story unfolded.
